"Alchemist"'s results tally ended up with half the top spots going to ones in the "Alchemist's Lab" stack, unsurprisingly. As for the other winners:
Old Mansion's "Reading" fits in well alongside the similar Examination Time 9;
Railroads 5 was an odd one for the setting drawn by the Alchemist's Lab ones, but I can buy it as muffled machinery, so long as it's in the lower range of volume compared to the rest of the sliders;
The two Volcanic Prairies and one Grazeland sliders were definitely wrenches thrown into the image called for by the title and surrounding sliders, but I eventually settled on keeping all 3 of these at the bottom of the volume range, to hopefully give off the sense of the outdoorsy noises being out through an open window, keeping the focus on the indoor lab / study setting.

To create your custom composite generator, browse the site for slider contents: open any generator on myNoise, and select the sliders you want to use in your custom set by 'zeroing' all others, then hit [c] to collect all active sliders into a hidden stack. Move to a next generator and repeat the process until you have accumulated 10 sliders. Now hit [shift+c] to render your custom composite generator. At any point, press [x+c] to clear the hidden stack.
