Perhaps this is a Romanesque monastery where cloisters and granges run rich with streams from the waterfall nearby, where a community tends to themselves and their gratitude, or standing deep within the plunge of a cascade are Doric columns of marble, the temple's eaves sculpted just so to shield the inner sanctum.
Maybe this is a later Gothic cathedral with waterworks that channel the river underneath and over the cliff edge it stands upon, a majesty in contrast to the stark peril of the abyss, or an ambitious palace from ancient times, with aqueducts from the mountains and water screws to raise itself and this precious resource above the firmament.
Either way, the echoes of their chant and its accompanying flow reaches every corner of the gardens above and below.
