A contribution by Christian5

Inspired by Nell's "Sublime" generator, Dark Ambient Dissonance is an ever-evolving soundscape: the atmosphere of this generator sways between tones of gentle longing and moments of tension and discord. It sounds a bit like Stars of the Lid to me.

If able, I like setting the tape speed to be a notch or two lower, for a more ominous and brooding atmosphere.

I really like this one for its depth and simplicity. It feels like there's some melancholic melody hidden beneath the drone. It's relaxing like looking into ever changing and yet the same waterwaves. And I agree: listening with 2x lower tape speed sounds beautiful. Makes my brain calm down after a busy day.

I love this one, reminds me a lot of the game Thief when you sneak in the dark to knock guards or looking for loots. There are many settings so have fun experimenting.

Create Your Own

Use a laptop or desktop computer, as you will be asked to use keyboard shortcuts.

To create your custom composite generator, browse the site for slider contents: open any generator on myNoise, and select the sliders you want to use in your custom set by 'zeroing' all others, then hit [c] to collect all active sliders into a hidden stack. Move to a next generator and repeat the process until you have accumulated 10 sliders. Now hit [shift+c] to render your custom composite generator. At any point, press [x+c] to clear the hidden stack.
