From the Edge of a Hole

If psytrance is associated with psychedelic experiences, what about dissociatives? Introducing Dissotrance, a fresh, experimental, trance-adjacent genre introduced by NorefavirenZ, a Finnish electronic music artist, myNoise fan, and explorer of the subconscious. His album, Dissociative Dance, stands as a proof of concept for this new style of electronic trance music.

While listening to this generator, try this: close your eyes and let go of the idea that music is just something you listen to, separate from yourself. Instead, allow yourself to become the listening, to merge with the sound rather than observe it. You're no longer the person hearing the music but the sound unfolding. And let dissociation naturally arise...

Many thanks to NorefavirenZ, who generously shared source material for this soundscape with me. You can find his original Dissociative Dance album on YouTube, as well as many others on his Bandcamp.

Welcome to an auditory journey around the edge of dissociation. I'm deeply honored to have my work featured on this site, and in such a striking way too! Stéphane did a fantastic job of keeping the original idea intact while editing the music into a more casual style perfectly fitting of myNoise. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

This is music inspired by what lies beneath reality deep in the dissociative hole. A state of dissociation not only from self, but from everything that is real.

Once you exit this world your mind interprets as real, you will realize your consciousness contains innumerable others. Some are familiar, some are new. You'll see that what you thought of as being the limit before is just an illusion; Just because something isn't real does not mean it doesn't exist.

Existence as you experience it is divided into what is real and what is not. With the right tools the mind has the capacity to experience both in equal depth; The size of all that is not real is equal to or greater than of all that is real.

The background image is a taste of visions I've seen. All slider and preset names have an actual deeper meaning. Nothing here is arbitrary. This is a music generator of the dissociative irreality.

Ad Animus Per Psychonautica,
NorefavirenZ

Tip: Try out Tape Speed Control and Remix for different flavors of dissociation.
