The bagpipe experience, with a level control!

The bagpipe has been a popular instrument across all of Europe for centuries, and its greatest visibility has been achieved by the famous Scottish Great Highland bagpipe. The bagpipe is certainly a very respectable instrument, but its loudness and the fact that it keeps hardly in tune is why it is the source of many jests among musicians.

Why do bagpipers walk when they play? To get away from the noise.

What's the difference between a bagpipe and an onion? No one cries when you chop up a bagpipe.

What's the difference between the Great Highland and Northumbrian bagpipes? The Great Highland burns longer.

What's the difference between a bagpipe and a trampoline? You take off your shoes when you jump on a trampoline.

And a last one, as a special thanks to my former colleague Gareth Lewis who helped me recording these pipes:

What's the difference between Gareth's rehearsing the bagpipes during his lunch break, and the fire alert signal? Everyone keeps calm during the fire evacuation.

Try to mix Dune Homage, Tibetian Spirit, Polyrythmic and Bag Pipes for House Atreides theme.

Also, Tanpura and Dual Drones is an interesting mix.

"Dual Drones" preset is a Scottish tanpura.

Didn't realize there was pibroch in the mix until I selected "Highlander". Bonnie!

OMG! Was skipping to all the great noises on this side and thought: "Hm.... A Bagpipe would be amazing..." And then I found this! As an absolute Scotland lover and also piper (beginner...) I LOVE!!! This one! In combi with the "Irish Coast" it's breathtaking! Thank you soooooo much! Oh, and just for the fun of it: How can you tell if a bagpipe is out of tune? ... If someone is blowing into it.

Whisper Song with the Wind Turned Down. Drowns out any ruckus, anywhere. Also easier to meditate to than singing bowls! - Victoria

This reminds me of so much history when I went to Europe. It was AMAZING!

Had to play around with settings for a while, but this one is bliss.

This is simply awesome. Thank you so much. Patrick

The Lowlander setting of the Bagpipe drone on top of the Irish Coast (especially when tweaked into a seashore sound) is one of the best ways to get my brain to calm down and focus on a task at hand. Nothing better than a living and changing bagpipe tune + a fun nature soundscape to keep my attention problems reined in!

I've listened to the Bagpipes drone for days on end! I change the chanters depending on what I'm doing but it's always going.

I love the Lowlander setting combined with the Starry Night setting on Summer Night. Together they make me think of my bagpipe teacher's home up in the hill towns where he raised sheep and Guineafowl. He would play the bagpipes to call in his sheep when it started to get dark, and these two generators together make me think of him. It also helps me to work through the stress of the day at work!

Oh Gosh, I miss Scotland :( The happiest 2 month of life I spent there.

Braw. Combined with a seaside generator like Ferryboat, reminds me of childhood home by the sea in the Highlands.

Sounds amazing with the drone and tibetian choir

I'm a piper so this is by far the most relaxing of the sounds I have listened to so far.

Not sure I like the bagpipe jokes :( but this generator is fab! This reminds me of misty evenings in Uist.

Simple but lovely, with drones and a low chant.

I am from India, Asia. I like this instrument, the sound from the instrument and the wear of Scotland! :)

So magical. I can work in a noisy cafe and at least think I'm in Scotland. Thank you for this one!

My dad plays the bagpipes, this reminds me of him.

Breath, and the chanting in the distance... it's perfect!

Listening to this helps me focus and transports me back to the Glasgow green. Oh, how I love the sound of bagpipes, and how I miss my time in Scotland...

I'm super happy to have this specific generator! I love the bagpipes and have since as long as I can remember. I love how clear the sound is! I always found it hard to record bagpipes with this clarity! And putting this together with the Irish Coastline generator really transports you to a new place, just putting it out there :)

My mum says that the reason her and I get goose bumps listening to bagpipes is because our Scottish blood sings along. You did brilliantly to bring that sensation back for me. It always brought forth images of wild and free things, the sky while the ground is burning. Thank you for this!

I would always look forward to the Bagpipes at the 4th of July Parade. They were so loud I could feel the vibrations deep in my chest. I feel like there's a kind of nostalgic wonderment that comes with their sound... Like the discovery of something new- that's been around for ages.It makes me homesick for places I've never been, across the ocean, from where my ancestors came.

Full volume for a realistic bagpipe sound ;)

← Big fan of this sound - heavy on the low and slow bagpipes and I find it really relaxing!

This with "Battlefield RPG", gives me goosebumps every time I listen.

This is extremely calming. I don't understand why the bagpipe, as odd as it is, is such a hated instrument. Maybe not exactly hated, but I think you get the point. It's a wonderful sound, and so unique.

Congratulations, I no longer hate bagpipes. I really like the way this one sounds.

I have adored bagpipes since I was little, and while I adore my many CDs, I have always wanted to just hear hours and hours of never ending bagpipes. I have been using this site for a while now and kept my fingers crossed to someday see bagpipes on here. Now, my dream has come true. Since it's been released, this is all I have been listening to, and it is so relaxing!

← whisper song. Never recognized those air fizzling sounds listening to bagpipes before. They really chill me down on this setting. Wow...

This generator is amazing... truly takes me to another place. It's simply wonderful. Gorgeous.

Bagpipes are far from my favourite instrument and I never imagined they could be turned into a nice drone. You've proven me wrong!

The poor, much-maligned bagpipes really get their chance to shine with this generator. It really captures the wild, often otherworldly soul of the instrument.

Never really understood the appeal of bagpipes until now. This is a kind of meditative experience; a sound that is not so far apart from the processed synthesisers in modern electronic music. Thank you for bringing to life a wonderful snapshot of this instrument, stereotypes aside.

Oh my, I was really waiting for this one! And the "Full Band" preset is something beautiful!

This is great - very focusing, but enough going on in the background to keep it interesting. Really good to listen to whilst working.

  Amazing! <3
